Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya offers one of Africa's most iconic wildlife views — vast herds of free-ranging elephants moving across open savannah with the snow-capped dome of Mount Kilimanjaro filling the horizon.

The park holds one of the highest concentrations of big-tusked elephants in Africa, and the clear equatorial light makes it a photographer's paradise. Lions, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest and hundreds of bird species complete the picture.

This 3-day itinerary departs Nairobi, offering two full days of game drives with maximum time in the park. The best Kilimanjaro views are at dawn on cloudless mornings — we time departures accordingly.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi to Amboseli

Pick-up from Nairobi hotel early morning. Drive to Amboseli via Namanga (approx. 4 hours). Afternoon game drive across the open plains — first encounters with Amboseli's famous elephant families. Overnight at lodge or tented camp.

Day 2

Full Day Amboseli Game Drives

Full day exploring Amboseli. Morning drive at first light for the clearest Kilimanjaro views. Track elephants, lions, cheetahs, wildebeest and zebra. Visit Observation Hill for a panoramic view over the swamps. Afternoon drive. Sundowner in the bush. Overnight at camp.

Day 3

Sunrise Drive & Return to Nairobi

Final sunrise game drive with Kilimanjaro glowing pink at dawn. Return to Nairobi after lunch, arriving mid-afternoon.
