Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda's most visited and biodiverse protected area, stretching across 1,978 km² of open savannah, dense forest, wetlands and crater lakes along the Kazinga Channel.
Famous above all for its tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector — a behaviour found in only two places on earth — the park also harbours over 600 bird species, large herds of elephant and buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, chimpanzees and the elusive leopard.
The 32 km Kazinga Channel, which links Lakes George and Edward, offers one of Africa's finest boat safaris. This 4-day itinerary combines game drives, the channel cruise and a full day in Ishasha, departing from Kampala.
