Jinja sits at the northern shore of Lake Victoria, where the world's longest river begins its 6,650 km journey to the Mediterranean. It is East Africa's undisputed adventure capital.

The stretch of the Nile below the source offers some of the world's finest Grade 4–5 white-water rafting — long rapids, massive waves and exhilarating drops in a spectacular tropical setting. The same stretch also hosts the world's only bungee jump over a river.

This 2-day itinerary combines a full day of rafting with a visit to the official Source of the Nile monument, kayaking and the vibrant waterfront scene that makes Jinja one of Uganda's most popular weekend escapes.

Day 1

Kampala to Jinja — Full Day Rafting

2-hour drive from Kampala to Jinja. Check into hotel. Full-day Grade 4–5 white-water rafting on the Nile — internationally rated as some of the best rafting in the world. Optional bungee jump over the Nile at Bujagali Falls (additional cost). Evening at the famous Nile waterfront strip. Overnight in Jinja.

Day 2

Source of the Nile & Return to Kampala

Morning kayak or stand-up paddleboard session on the calm upper Nile. Boat trip to the official Source of the Nile — the exact point where Lake Victoria flows out and the great river begins. Lunch in Jinja. Return to Kampala, arriving mid-afternoon.
